[Commonplace book], [ca. 1680-1690].

Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, containing 323 numbered moral and religious reflections and proverbs, 25 prayers, and several sermons. Many of the entries concern the Eucaristic sacrament, including prayers labeled Ejaculations To Be Used Att The Lords Supper; Immediately Before Receaving, and Att The Receaving Of The Bread. The manuscript also includes religious and sermon extracts titled Part of an Exploration Exhibited by Doct. Cranmer Bisshop of Canterbury Martyr: Concerning the Sacrament; Doctor Tillotson, Deane of Canterbury, in His Sermon Booke Entitled a Perswasion to Frequent Communion; and a sermon followed by the note "This discourse was in a sermon Mr. Leaver preached on Sunday the 25th of May 1690."
